What do you want to be when you grow up?
It's a little bit too late fro me to answer that question, i guess...
When i finished my college and started my first job, my nephew was asking me that question. I found that it was very hard to answer as i've already got a job. i cant even remember what i told my teacher when i was in primary school. it could be something like doctor.
It was easier to answer the question when you were a kid. i had a friend who passionately told me that she wanted to be a gynecologist when she grew up and i didnt even have any idea what gynecologist was. I kind of lost contact with her but from what i heard i'm pretty sure she isnt a gynecologist.
When i was a kid, it was every parents dream for their kid to be a doctor, engineer, architect, lawyer ( all this high end profession) A generation before that, it was our grandparents dream for our parent to be a teacher/lecturer, soldier, police, nurse or a government servant.
When i was in INTEC, a lecturer (he was about 50++ years old) told a story that when he was a kid, his parent told him to study very hard so that he can be a teacher. But now he overheard a woman told her boy to study hard otherwise he will be a teacher.
Now we realized that we can be successful altho we are not a doctor. What we want our kids to be? A lot of things. Artist, dancer, model, singer, blogger, photographer, MLMians, chef etc....it's wasnt an alternative career anymore...my generation approved all this career.
We have pretty good example of millionaire drop-out like Steve Job, Bill Gates, Mark Zuck which put the idea that we dont have to go to college to be a billionaire (or successful). All this examples are breaking the tradition. Education is more than what we get from the classroom or university , experience is an education as well.
What i learned when i was in college doesnt really apply to my career but the experience, exposure and skill that i got from my college year is something that no money in the world can buy. and i glad i choose college and that's might be one of the best choice i made in my life.

MLMians?!LOL!
yeah true, being a teacher was something people respect long time ago..but now it seems that most people become teachers because they have no other choice, or they think that it's the easiest job..too few passionate teachers nowadays
